Textile Art Design Alliance

This group meets to work on all forms of textile design and implementation.  Projects can involve painting, stenciling, embellishments of all kinds, beading, etc. Members share techniques as well as their latest projects, and the meetings are hands-on, to work on fabric arts together.  Open to the public.  New members are always welcome, and no prior experience is required.  Free.

Open Studio For Arts and Crafts
Jan 3 @ 1:30 pm – 4:00 pm

This workshop focuses on your projects, in your own way and in your own time.  You can do anything you can bring the setup for – materials and supplies.  You will receive support and help from students and teacher, and learn how to work more creatively and effectively toward your own goals.  Open to the public, but please sign on in the library with subject (if possible) and which form of art you are pursuing.

Current students are working in watercolor, fabric arts, and drawing.  Demonstration classes have been held in papermaking, book arts, tile arts, food art, floral art and watercolor.  If enough students show an interest, demonstration classes in a particular medium will be added.

Conococheague Players

Enhance your dramatic reading skills! Conococheague Players is a group that presents programs in our community, and meets to develop the presentation and reading skills of anyone who wants to perform! No experience necessary.  New members are always welcome.  Open to the public.  Free.

Friends of Grove Meeting

The Friends of Grove Library is an organization that supports the work of the library by holding fundraising booksales, fall festivals, and other events.  New members are always welcome.  Open to the public.

Bone Strengthening And Muscle Building

This program will help build muscles, promote flexibility, increase endurance, and improve balance.   Please bring light weights, water, and a towel.  Wear comfortable clothes along with sneakers and socks.  Open to men and women.  Free.  Come get healthy with us.

Arts in Education Workshop
Jan 6 @ 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

The January 8th meeting will introduce professional artists to the Arts In Education  (AIE) program.  AIE places qualified artists in classrooms and community organizations for residencies – typically, 20 days long.  Artists collaborate with the classroom teacher or program director to use their art form to teach curriculum.  During the meeting, staff will review how artists can apply to become a teaching artist with AIE. stARTSomething is a regional program of the PA Council on the Arts and the Cultural Alliance. Open to the public, artists in whatever medium, (dancers, poets, musicians, etc.) are encouraged to apply.  Free.

Applique Club

Bring your current project, your supplies, and work on fabric art with a group of people who enjoy applique.  New members are always welcome.  Open to the public.  Free.

Penn National Needlework

A group that is devoted to knitting and crocheting items for various charities.  Past projects have supported our troops overseas, The Cancer Society, Women in Need, and Make A Wish Foundation, among others.  New participants are always welcome.  Open to the public.  Free.
